Attentions during blood pressure monitoring

1. More cuffs should be prepared, sufficient in quantity, complete models and ready for disinfection. Be dedicated. Even if the equipment is insufficient and a monitor is shared between adjacent beds, the cuff needs to be fixed and applied, and the cuff joint part can be replaced during measurement. It can effectively avoid cross-infection and prevent the psychological discomfort caused to patients and their relatives.

2. When measuring for adults and children, pay attention to the selection and adjustment of cuffs and pressure values to avoid confusion.

3. After unfolding, the cuff should be wrapped around the patient's elbow joint 1~2cm, and the tightness should be such that it can be inserted into 1~2 fingers. Too loose may cause the pressure to be too high; too tight may cause the pressure to be too low, and at the same time make the patient uncomfortable and affect the patient's arm blood pressure recovery. The catheter of the cuff should be placed at the brachial artery, and the catheter should be at the extension of the middle finger. People should not speak or move.

4. The arm should be kept flush with the human heart, and the patient should be instructed not to speak or move when the blood pressure cuff is inflated.

5. When measuring pressure, the position of the cuff on the arm should be flush with the heart, and the patient should not speak or move.

6. The manometric arm should not be used to measure body temperature at the same time, which will affect the accuracy of the body temperature value.

7. Avoid measuring infusions or limbs with malignant trauma, otherwise it will cause blood backflow or wound bleeding.

8. Patients under continuous monitoring must relax 1-2 times per shift. When the condition permits, the monitoring site should be replaced every 6-8h. Prevent unnecessary skin damage caused to the patient by continuously monitoring the same part.

9. In order to prevent peculiar smell and increase comfort, the cuff should be replaced and cleaned weekly, and disinfected at any time when it is contaminated.

10. When the cuff nylon buckle is loose, it should be replaced and repaired in time. To prevent errors.

11. There is a big error in the measured value of the patient during restlessness and limb spasm. Do not over-frequency measurement. Severe shock, heart rate less than 40 beats per minute; greater than 200 beats per minute; the measured results need to be compared with manual measurements combined with clinical observation.
