Symptoms of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia
COVID-19 affects different groups of people in different ways. Most infected people experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without hospitalization.
The most common symptoms are:
fever
cough
weak
loss of taste or smell
Less common symptoms are:
sore throat
Headache
soreness and pain
diarrhea
rash, discoloration of fingers or toes
red or irritated eyes
Severe symptoms include:
difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Speech or movement problems, or confusion
chest pain
If your symptoms are severe, seek medical attention immediately. Call before seeing your doctor or going to a medical facility.
Mild patients who are otherwise healthy should deal with symptoms at home.
Typically, patients develop symptoms 5–6 days after contracting the virus, but symptoms can take as long as 14 days.
